This project was the result of an exemplary collaborative effort between industry and government to serve the needs of the community. AMD Corporation, the city of Sunnyvale and the Sunnyvale School District funded the construction of this facility on an existing middle school campus, to provide recreational and social services to residents of the City of Sunnyvale, California.

The main gymnasium has a large gable roof to relate visually with the rest of the campus as well as pay homage to the agricultural heritage of the area. An adjacent “lean-to”, which furthers the image of a barn structure while reducing the overall scale of the building, houses support spaces.
